Safety and Supervision

Safe play is shared play

Children are naturally curious, adventurous and occasionally convinced they are indestructible.

We have designed Dartlings carefully and put appropriate safety measures in place, but active play will always involve an element of ordinary risk. Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children throughout every visit.

Dartlings does not provide childcare or direct supervision of individual children.

Adult supervision

Every child must be accompanied by a responsible adult who remains on the premises for the entire session.

Adults should stay close enough to intervene when needed, particularly around climbing equipment, changes in level, water activities and areas used by children of different ages and abilities.

Please do not leave children unattended while ordering food, visiting the toilet or speaking with other guests.

Safety and Supervision

Using the play equipment

Children should use equipment in the intended manner and follow any signs or guidance provided by the Dartlings team.

Please help us by ensuring that children:

  • Do not climb on the outside of barriers or structures

  • Do not push or behave roughly around other children

  • Use slides and climbing areas in the correct direction

  • Respect any age, height or capacity restrictions

  • Keep food and drinks outside designated play areas

Staff may temporarily close an area or ask a child to stop an activity where there is a safety concern.

Safety and Supervision

Babies and younger children

Younger children may need additional support in shared areas.

Parents and carers should consider their child’s development, confidence and physical ability before allowing them to use particular equipment. Please remain especially attentive where babies and toddlers are playing near older or more active children.

Safety and Supervision

Illness and allergies

Please do not attend if your child is unwell or has symptoms of an infectious illness.

Parents and carers are responsible for informing the team of any relevant allergies, medical needs or additional support requirements. We will always try to help, but we cannot guarantee an entirely allergen free environment.

Safety and Supervision

Accidents and first aid

Minor bumps are an ordinary part of active childhood, but we ask for all accidents to be reported to a member of staff so we can know where to help and improve in future.

Trained first aid support and an accident reporting process will be in place. In an emergency, staff may contact the emergency services and follow the information provided during booking.
